Workamping jobs

  1. Our first Workamper job as campground hosts at the Covered Bridge Campground in Albany NH, located in the White Mountain National Forest.   We were hired by Pro Sport Inc a concession that managed all the campgrounds in the Forest.

Working in the Forest was certainly a change with no electricity (ran off a Honda generator),  hauled water from an artesian well that had been running for many years, and propane ran our refrigerator.  Cell phone and TV was non existent and were actually a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.  A dutch oven was a major appliance in our food preparation making pizza,  mac and cheese,  and pineapple upside down cake.

Our responsibilities were collecting monies, posting reservations, cleaning sites, and cleaning 8 vault toilets.  We only worked 25 hours a week however we had to be on site 5 days to answer questions.  This was great living in a beautiful campground.
