Our first Workamper job as campground hosts at the Covered Bridge Campground in Albany NH, located in the White Mountain National Forest. We were hired by Pro Sport Inc a concession that managed all the campgrounds in the Forest.
Working in the Forest was certainly a change with no electricity (ran off a Honda generator), hauled water from an artesian well that had been running for many years, and propane ran our refrigerator. Cell phone and TV was non existent and were actually a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A dutch oven was a major appliance in our food preparation making pizza, mac and cheese, and pineapple upside down cake.
Our responsibilities were collecting monies, posting reservations, cleaning sites, and cleaning 8 vault toilets. We only worked 25 hours a week however we had to be on site 5 days to answer questions. This was great living in a beautiful campground.
